We're not sure if Shaw subscribers in the Great North are still experiencing those
retched pixelation issues, but nevertheless, the Canadian cable provider is getting set to shuffle the lineups in a number of locales to accommodate new HD programming. Certain parts of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba will see an undisclosed amount of channels swap spots starting next week, but we'd say the aggravation will be well worth it when TLC HD, Encore Avenue HD and a handful of new HD pay-per-view movies show up. If the quality is up to snuff, that is.
Maybe Shaw should get the sound drop outs and pixelation issues resolved before they add any mroe channels. There has been no improvement.
im a shaw subscriber and im from vancouver, BC .. they have horrible problems with their pixel problems even when its hooked up to a Sony XBR4 series... and adding those channels.. we need more sports
wheres the score in HD or like espn HD or even TNT HD ...
come on shaw get with the program
Threre have been no significant improvements in Shaw's HD. There are still pixellation issues and random audio drops. Hopefully the addition of these channels doesn't negatively impact an already mediocre service.
No better, but I don't know if it is Shaw or the Motorola boxes they use. I have had channels drop out completely in the last few weeks. Either no picture, no sound, or snow. Unplugging the box then plugging it back in fixes things.
I have also noticed lately that some stations have been doing a zoom on 4:3 content so the normal black bars on the sides are smaller then normal. This seems to be station specific among the HD channels.
I am in Vancouver, BC, which isn't on the list for upgrades.
i am in vancouver area and now have shaw and bell side by side same cables etc.. wow bell is hands down , no comparision better quality no pixlizataion and no audio drops!!! after months of giving feedback to shaw who dosent really care even invited thier head office to view this which they declined of course.i will highly recommed that shaw works on quality rather than quanity!!!
I know this probably isn't entirely relevant but Shaw's Internet service has started to give me drop-outs also. I'll be playing world of warcraft marily, marily marily row row your boat...life is but a dream....and then the dream turns into a nightmare.
My character stops moving...my skype signs out...my msn messenger signs out...I can't open any websites. Ohh? a minute later its back! Yes! but my character is dead. :| It happens once every 15 minutes if 0 downloads are going in the background. If I am downloading via some p2p application, it cancels out every 5-6 minutes or quicker. Its just pathetic all around.
I tried doing a hard reset of my modem, router, etc ipconfig /flushdns, updating network card drivers, updated firmware and everything else I could think of...
Still no go. So I called up Shaw. Shaw said everything's fine on our end...problem must be on your end...
A week later, problem on 'my end' that 'suddenly occured' on 'two seperate computers' is still occuring. Ordered a new router, updated firmware again and it still wasn't working worth a darn.
Called Shaw. 'No problems on our end, must be your end' :| Sigh...so a technical will arrive in a weeks time. Woo...hoo?
