Christie's LW600 3LCD projector touts 6,000 lumens
What Christie's LW600 lacks in resolution (it's only WXGA, or 1,366 x 800) it most definitely makes up in brightness. Boasting 6,000 ANSI lumens (dual lamp), 2,000:1 contrast ratio and a trio of 1.22-inch inorganic LCDs, this projector could probably produce a visible image in your average sunroom. You'll also find 10-bit image processing, DVI / BNC / composite / VGA inputs, a motorized zoom, focus and shift lens, bundled remote, RS-232c port and the ability to play nice with a dozen lenses. Regrettably, there's no mention of a price, but we have a sneaking suspicion this 60.85-pound beast won't be exceptionally cheap.

What are these companies thinking when they build something like this? A big, fancy, expensive, super bright projector that wont do 1920x1080. In other news, GM develops new suburban that gets 200mpg but only has 1 seat.
This just in: prosumer home theater setups aren't the only place a projector can be used.
We could use one of these in a large lecture hall here on campus. I'll have to let our buyer know, I'm curious how much they would run. A lot of professors constantly fight with the lights and our 500-1000 ANSI lumen projectors in service now to achieve a visible image and still let students see the seat in front of them.
Methinks this is NOT intended for home theater use--rather, it's targeted to be used for presentations in the well-lit boardrooms of corporations around the world. Lack of resolution and contrast ratio would kill it for HT use.
