Discovery Channel HD's new logo

A reader passed along this image from Wikipedia of the new logo from Discovery Channel HD's first revamp. Of course shiny new graphics won't make us love your channel (Deadliest Catch is all over that) but compared to the old style, we must say it's an improvement.

Wonderful. An even larger translucent annoyance to obscure the bottom right hand corner of my HD picture.

During broadcast, only the D with the Earth inset is displayed. Not intrusive at all...

How can a channel that just started have a "revamp?" Or is EngadgetHD simply forgetting that the HD channel that HAS been around is called Discovery HD Theater?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i'm pretty sure Discovery Channel HD and Discovery HD Theater are and always have been completely different channels with different programming and everything.

I'd love to see the Discovery Channel HD logo on my TV, but alas, Time Warner in Los Angeles hates us.
