It's been quite some time since we heard of a theater right here in the US of A
opening up with 4K projectors tucked inside, but for residents of Cumming, Georgia, such a scenario is about to unfold in your town. The AMC Avenue Forsyth 12 will be the first all-digital theater in the area when it opens on May 16th, packing Sony 4K digital cinema projectors and two auditoriums with screens stretching over three stories high and 50-feet wide. In sum, the venue will boast a dozen auditoriums with over 2,220 seats with rocking-back chairs, and folks who make their way down on opening weekend will even get a free small popcorn with each (presumably overpriced) ticket. There, we made some plans for you -- hope you're available!
Cool. Just a 45 minute jaunt from Atlanta. I'll be there!
I hope theres more true 4K material instead of upconverting 1080P content even though it looks real good.
Sweet! This is 10 minutes from my house. I've been wondering what goodies they had in store at this monster of a theater. I'm taking my son there to see Wall•E the day it opens (assuming they show it there...surely they will).
10 minutes away from my house too. It opens next week and thankfully I have already forgotten the way to Movies 400! Fantastic
I just took my daughter to see Kung Fu Panda there today. WOW!!!!! Highly recommend that movie on that screen.
Another all digital AMC theater opened up in Colorado on April 4th. It too has the new Sony 4K projectors. Watching a movie on the new projectors is very similar to the first time I watched HDTV. The first thing I noticed was the text during the opening credits was tack sharp. If you live in the north Denver metro area it's worth a trip to the Orchard 12.

How do I find what is playing at the AMC Avenue Forsyth 12 theatre?
My daughter lives in Cumming, GA, and we just went to see Kung Fu Panda on the 4K today. Holy %&$*!!!!! That is all that I can say. It looked UNBELIEVABLE!!! Perfect movie for the 4K!!!
