DVDPlay to add Blu-ray Discs in movie rental kiosks
When Blu-ray hits the food mart, you know it has gone big time. DVDPlay just coined itself the "first rental kiosk operator to offer Blu-ray Discs," as it laid out a plan to shove BD flicks into its machines as early as June 10th. Vanilla DVDs will, of course, continue to be offered alongside the newcomers, and best of all, the rental fee for Blu-ray Discs won't be a penny more than what is already charged for DVDs ($1.49). Those with DVDPlay kiosks around can inspect their local machines for Untraceable and Men in Black in under a fortnight, as those two are specifically noted as titles that will likely be offered up early on.

Do you guys know when either Redbox or NewRelease will start offering Blurays? Those are the only two kiosks in my area. Thanks to redbox i stopped going to BB.
I've got Redbox in the area as well, but I've never actually rented a disc from one.
Cool. These guys showed up in our town about two months ago, with redbox trailing a week later. I'll definitely be checking that out...
I still prefer netflix to these kiosks, but it is cool to see BD going widespread.
My only worry is the little old lady who inadvertently rents a Blu-ray Disc and can't get it to play in her DVD player.
I'd be more worried with her trying to get it to play in her VHS player.
Wow, I can't imagine any way the usual naysayers could spin this one against Blu-ray. Serious momentum continues to build! Awesome news.
We had one of these kiosks in our town for a couple months, then some bum pee'd all over it. You don't care what format they carry after that happens.
I only get it from Redbox when I get bored and need something to watch that night. I would love to have them carry bluray. With the sucess of Rebox I'm surprised that there's not too many other Kios popping up at every corners.
