as part of the tv crew on a low-power independant tv show, the station manager has a connection with a store owner who said that they're expecting the tr-40 in their store june 15th... don't quote me on that date though...
I just received an email from the company I ordered the DTVPAL from cancelling my order because they found out that the converter will sell for $59.99 instead of $39.99 and they have been left hanging by the distributer on the date the converters would be available. I would be very careful about ordering the DTVPAL.
Now that we've thrown 'em off the trail, use the form below to get in touch with the people at Engadget. Please fill in all of the required fields because they're required.
Any word on the famed EchoStar TR-40 (also known as the "DTVPal")??
AFAIK, that is the one many people are waiting for. Features include:
-estimated $40 price at retail, so free (except for tax) with a voucher
-analog pass-through
-VCR/event timer capabilities.
Months ago, I read it would be out in "june or july" but haven't heard much since then...
