Cablevision's got Planet Green too
How do you add a new HD channel without adding a new channel? Simple, if you're Cablevision in New York. Just wait for Discovery to switch Discovery Home Channel to the new eco-focused Planet Green HD and new channel here we come. Either way, Time Warner customers aren't the only ones having all the green fun (if being a TWC customer can be called fun where you are) check channel 172 and the video on demand section for all the new programming.

Dear Cablevision,
You just moved all the Voom channels to SDV, can we get Discovery HD now?
Thanks.
What are you kidding? Why would CableVision give us customers the channels that we want? Jeeze, what kind of business do you think they run?
On another note, my picture quality has gotten increasingly worse since the move to SDV. Too bad FiOS isn't in my area otherwise CableVision would probably have no customers anymore.
Sorry to say this article is inaccurate - while it is true that Cablevision now does carry Planet Green on Channel 172, they are not in fact carrying the HD version as this article states.
I doubt this is an HD channel. The article doesn't mention HD at all and all of Cablevision's HD channels are in the 700s. I guess we'll just have to see at 6pm.
They better be in HD cause I'm still pissed about the VOOM channels..
We do not have this channel in HD on Cablevision.
My box does an automatic switch from 480p to 720p for the HD channels and it does not do it for this channel. It's nice that they have it right away though. If you care to have this channel in HD you can go to the planet green site and find your local provider and then click request in HD.
I bet Cablevision(and others) simply aren't sure how high demand is going to be for the channel and if it's worth taking up the bandwidth for it.
