Pioneer intros 60-inch KRP-600M KURO plasma in Japan
Here in North America, we already saw Pioneer get official with its second-generation of KURO plasmas, but today is all about Japan. Said outfit has just revealed the dazzling KRP-600M, which checks in at 60-inches diagonally and 64-millimeters in depth. Pioneer is being its typical self when it comes to specs by simply tossing the 1,920 x 1,080 resolution out there and insisting that it pretty much looks better than any other TV on the entire planet. Not that we really dig that Bose approach™, but at least we're told that there are component, VGA, DVI, HDMI, Ethernet, RS-232C, IR repeater and audio in / out jacks. The set should hit Japanese shelves later this month for around ¥850,000 ($7,970), while the optional table stand, wall mount and speaker system will run you quite a bit less.

Someone get Ben a new pair of pants!
DAMN!!! I've been waiting for this one for ages!
Finally a replacement for my 50" Elite in the living room.. the price isn't that bad at all either.. I'm guessing around $6500 street value.. that's so much less then what I paid my first Elite...
This is signiture series, it is in no way to compare pioneers top notch plasma performance, this is for those custom instalers that have $$$
This is the exact version of the 2nd gen aka 9g pioneer kuro plasma with the exception of barebone thing screen only, oh and it was hand picked by oopma loompa to meet willy wonka specs (joke though about the willy really its about QA being more strict)
and fianly this is the last batch (9g seriee not just this expensive panel) of pioneer in house production, by 10g pioneer will have panasonic glass/panel and will be on specs to pioneer's standards.
i own a 42px75u and will be getting the PRO-111FD it will be around 4gs i'd say (street price not msrp) and its 50" full 1080p elite pioneer, for those lcd fanboy's and uneducated people walk away.

nfinity are you being sarcasitic or actually own the first pioneer elite tv?
I'm not being sarcastic.. I do have the 50" Elite... not the new Kuro one.. I paid through the nose a while back.
This one offers much more quality plus it's 60" for about the same.. that's pretty good.. I guess switching to Panasonic has something to do with it but I don't have a problem with Panasonic quality I have a 1080p 42" in my office from them.. superb.
nfinity i cant seem to post so ill do so here
crap i just wrote alot :( this model is 100% pioneer in house production and the 10g (next years) model will be panasonic / pioneer merge. i recomend you to go to avs forums dot i have a 42px75u panasonic but will be upgrading to a pro-111FD 9g pioneer elite as i want 100% in house production from pioneer . :D ask any question away i'll answer :
It seems like you really know your stuff, gus. What info can you give us as far as these models go? 5010FD, Pro1150HD Elite Kuro, PDP5000EX. This last one is complete with the big black frame and speakers. Doesn't come with the sub woofer or receiver. They have it on closeout for $4000. I know that the original was $7000. Is this the better tv, regardless of the other components?
shelley 5010FD is the 8th generation aka 8g of the non elite pioneer lineup the 1150 is the 8g elite edition, the PDP 5000ex is an older model i belive it was one of the first few 1080p models, 4gs? god no! for that price you can get a 9g Pioneer Elite PRO-111FD ......
more info just ask me
i welcome anyone and everyone who wants to know more at avs forums dot com
ps this is not advertising its my recomendation....
