Having HD camers in the newsroom is neat and all (many local networks have already converted, including one in my town), but as we're nearing 10 years since HD programming first hit the airwaves, I sure hope HD cameras make it out to the actual NEWS coverage in the field sometime soon.
CBS News has been playing with the Sony XDCamHD cameras (like the PDW-700) since before Sony released them. They have field HD aqusition technology, but you're still gonna see a lot of field work in SD. SD is going to be around for a while, so sit back and enjoy the blurry...
