The EPA found that the percentage remained consistent from 1999-2005. Even as recycling rates went up, the amount of electronics reaching end of life outpaced the increase, leaving the figure static. (source: EPA, July 2008)

I bought one of these about 2 years ago. While all the hardware specs basically made this a must have item, the software on it was horrible. I bought it specifically because it said it could play back native HD/TS files. Unfortunately it could not. Be it playback via the 10/100 network or locally, my older Xbox running XBMC actually did a far better job at playing HD files, even tho its CPU (Celeron 733mhz) was too slow to handle full framerates (it could playback at 5-10 fps).
I spent a day with it before returning it for a refund. The software on this thing is pure crap. I'm currently running XBMC on Windows and its FAR better.
Dont get me wrong, I like the design and the hardware on the mvix system, its just that it didnt live up to the HD playback promise.
