uhhhhhhh, way overblown numbers. If anyone here can do math that means out of the 5.21 million PS3's sold in America, about 4.5 and more are watching blu-ray. Or what they think is Blu-Ray. Or maybe this could be true, and therfore being PS3's worst nightmare... that people bought the system as a Blu-Ray player, but they don't buy any blu-rays (Rent) or buy any games to help sony recoup their 3.3 Billion Lost in the PS3.
This survey would have some legs if they asked how many Blu-Ray movies you own and how often do you watch a Blu-Ray movie.
Never underestimate the stupidity of typical consumers. I wouldn't be surprised if a large chunk of that 87% thought "Blu-Ray" was what happened when you put a DVD in a PS3.
Given that a scary number of people are currently telling pollsters (in the USA & UK) that they think the imminent switch to digital TV is the same thing as high def I'd say that neither EQC nor nfinity are being in the least bit "supercilious".
It's a perfectly reasonable & fair reflection of reality. Especially given the fact that Sony (at least initially) boxed PS3s with a composite cable (incapable of supplying a high def signal).
Supercilious? Maybe you ought to go look the word up and try for an appropriate use of it next time, eh?
Is it the new addition to the blu-ray.com lexicon? Hmmm, it's only taken about 9mths since they all started referring to everything they didn't like as "asinine"; things are speeding up over there.
As for "w@nkers"? I thought outright name-calling by abusive foul language was banned here? Seeing as your only contribution to this thread has been to apply a wrong criticism and attack someone with an abusive term (for Americans who may not know a "w@nker" comes from the term 'w@nk' which means masturbate, so calling someone a w@nker is no term of mild endearment.

Jeez, that's your comeback?!
You must be so proud.
You got totally sussed out on the inaccurate use of a vocabulary clearly alien to you and utterly shot down for your use of a crassly offensive & abusive term to other posters.
That's pretty funny, in a tragic kind of way......tho I doubt anyone will be laughing 'with you' for it.
“Getting too close completely blurred what we saw to the point of incomprehension, but again, this shows a whole heap of potential that's fascinating to us.”

Pathetic.

Don't even attempt to take any high moral ground here, you hypocrite.
