well I use my computer to download x.264 blu-ray rips and I then watch those on my tv (pc is hooked up to pc via long DVI-HDMI cable).
The pc was not built for the tv tho, it just happens to be in the same room as the tv so I run the cable over to watch movies on the big screen. Does that count as a HTPC?
