WMC-TV brings local news to Memphis, Tennessee in HD
The number of US cities that still lack at least one option for seeing local news in HD has just declined by one, as WNC-TV becomes the mid-south's very first high-definition news channel. The Memphis, TN NBC affiliate began showing off its fanciful new equipment this week, which included HD studio cameras, graphics tailored for high-def and even an HD version of its StormTrack Doppler 5. Whatcha got to say about that, Nashville / Knoxville?

uh, welcome to the party?
CBS Channel 5 in Nashville has been HD for their Newscasts for quite a while now.
seeing our local news team in HD is no treat.
Nashville says its about time. As Greg said CBS has been HD for over a year and ahalf now.
Thanks Greg... you beat me to it. They've been HD for nearly a year.
Hello, I'm researching a problem with windows media center and tuning WMCtv and WPTY, Memphis and have found the answers for Windows Media Center (MCE) over at thegreenbutton.com. Check it out. I now have WHBQ and am able to view in MCE. The other channels, no go. Here's a link to the fix and an explaination.

Basically, the channel info for WHBQ in MCE is incorrect. The fix is in the link and you will be able to view that channel.
For WMC and WPTY, it is the TV station's fault! We cannot fix it and have to live without those channels in MCE. We will have to contact the channels and give them the link to that blog. Maybe, if they are not busy (or if we can even get ahold of the engineers), they will have time to troubleshoot with one of us to get this corrected.
As it stands, you can watch WHBQ in media center (I use MCE2005). But, we cannot watch WMC or WPTY. Please, let's make an effort to contact these guys.
