I can only speak about the 875 remote, but personally I've found it to be an impressive little beastie. It's all illuminated, can do macros, can learn from any other remote and they tried to keep it from going to that monster bloated fat size some of the all-in-ones are at.
It's not the shortest I've seen and it's not what you'd call pretty - it does so much that it looks a bit crowded - but what else could they do?
