Chicago's WGN takes local news to HD
Whoa, WGN news is lookin' good in high-definition! The superstation has finally taken a hint and got with the program by unveiling its HD newscasts. Viewers can tune in locally on Chicago's local CW affiliate, while national onlookers can switch over to WGN America HD. Check the read link for more high-resolution screen captures.

It'd be nice if Comcast would give us WGN HD so I could watch the Cubs in hi-def.
Here's something that interesting.. here in Chicago, with Comcast, we have WGNDT, but it is in the section for HDTV. (which, implies that WGN-TV is in HDTV.)
I will check this out tomorrow morning to see if the morning news is in HDTV.
Channel 192? WGNHD
Unless you're talking out of market...
Now if only Philly's NBC10 news broadcast did the same thing...
DanMacMan, we had Comcast and they have WGN HD. You can get it free directly from the cable outlet.
And I can't believe Fox Chicago News is will be the last to go HD.
Maybe someday HD newscasts will actually use the wide screen rather than wasting it by cramming everything into the middle so the extra space on either side can be cropped out for the 4:3 channel.
C'mon all you old dinosaur technophobe losers! At least get a 16:9 SDTV like my mom did.
I got up yesterday morning, turned on the SD set in my sitting room and saw the little HD logo in the lower corner of the screen. I went downstairs to the family room and turned on the HD set and saw the WGN Morning News in HD glory. I'm very happy that they're finally in the 21st century.
I noticed this morning that their makeup looks weird, though.
It's about time. Looks good!
