now that verizon has done NYC, and this is launching.
Please get us FIOS internet out here in Los Angeles, and not just a couple communities. open it up all over
I hope this NYC push doesn't pull installers away from the Philly burbs. Verizon put up aerial fiber last month on my street, but they yet to finish the deal or announce anything. I'm trying to wait patiently, but all I get to wet my appetite is our town's channel lineup which just got posted this week! Verizon I want my FIOS.
Juice - reach out to me and I'll help you determine if you can have FiOS yet - if not, I'll keep you posted on when it is available.
I'm calling BS on this list. The vast majority of them are not even wired up and are only available in new buildings, not a substantial portion of the neighborhood, especially in Manhattan.
That said, when they decide to actually get around to wiring the real city up, I'll be switching in a heartbeat.
Moot - contact me - I specialize in apartment buildings for Verizon - let me help you find out if you can have FiOS in an older building!
Hopefully this will spur Cablevision to add more HD channels.
But finally, NYCers can partake in the FiOS TV goodness.
Yeah, that's a nice press release and all, except for that little part where they still tell me it's not available in my area and won't be for some time. I live in the Gravesend section of Brooklyn, NY, listed as having FiOS. Admittedly, I live somewhat on the border of Gravesend and Bensonhurst, but still, I've never even seen one of those FiOS trucks around here.
Let me help you - I work for Verizon FIOS and specialize in apartments - I can help you find out for sure if you can have FiOS.
This is just in certain buildings in each neighborhood. I live in the upper east side and just checked the website..."sign up for email notification when fios is available."
Not available for my building yet :(.
Really looking forward to going from one HBO HD channel to about a dozen. Plus HD VOD.
list is very deceiving. Only new apartments and condo buildings built in the last few years have been pre-wired for Fios, the rest of us on the block do not have any FiOS and probably won't for another few years.
couldn't they just run the fiber to the basement of every buildign then use the existing cable to get to each apt?
I live in the Bronx ,,, Williamsbridge Section and I am happy to announce my INSTALL DATE of 8/7 ... HOORAY .. i even gave cablevision one last chance to save me and they did nothing to keep me ... Coincidentally my bill cycle end date with Cablevision is my Verizon FIOS TV install date ... HOOOORAY !!!!
My section in the Bronx (Norwood) is not available yet. I called as well as entered my address at the FiOS site. Let's hope it's soon, 'cause CV compression on some HD channels are ridiculous!
Does anyone know if and when Verizon Fios is going to come to Southwestern Connecticut (ie Milford) because Cablevision is just pissing me off, I can't remember the last time they added any HD channels and Fios is the only land line service I know of that offers Setanta Sports.

Sign me up.. I've been waiting for Fios tv for months in staten island - Had fios internet for awhile.
Just have to get out of my directv contract. Those bastards extended my contract to Feb 2010 because they replaced a defective HD receiver. I'm gonna sue..
Kevon - contact me - I'll sign you up!
you bet, I will order verizon fios tv the second I am offered access to verizon fios tv - can't wait to get rid of monopoly timewarnercable's terrible service. They can afford doing whatever to abuse the customers because they are the only one. welcome verizon.
when are the rest of the markets gonna see the 100 HD channels? i'm in north texas and im getting my fios installed tomorrow, i wanna see 100 HD channels as well... i thought i read before that verizon wanted to launch their new HD channels on a nationwide basis instead of market-by-market like the cable companies?
Is anyone familiar with the GUI for FiOS TV yet? DVR, etc? Is it any good?
wish they could get it all parts of brooklyn. i can not even get cable in my hood. i am in a satellite ghetto. i am in an historic district and the bylaws will not allow telephone poles and verizon owns the rights to the fences behind the houses where the tel cables run. help us verizon!!
@Tam How do I contact you to see if/when FiOS will be available in my apartment building on the Lower East Side? I can't seem to find an email address linked to your user on these weblogs inc comments... Thanks!
