It takes plenty of equipment to produce the Olympics in HD
As self proclaimed HD junkies, we are almost as interested in what it takes to produce HD as we are into watching it. So when we ran across these pictures of all the HDTV and switching equipment setup for the Olympics, it really got our blood pumping. It's not that we didn't think that it was going to take a ton of equipment to produce 3600 hours of HD, but it's one thing to read it, and another to actually see it. One thing's for sure, 08.08.08 can't get here fast enough.

I am so psyched for all of this. A fair amount of the back end editing equipment they are using is made by the company I do software QA for and I am geeking hard because of it. I feel like the luckiest nerd in the world right now :)
Olympics? That's still around? Seriously I could care less about the events as a whole, plus I don't care to support the corrupt chinese government. I'd rather beat off with sandpaper...
Don't know if I've missed something... But
Are any network in the US really showing all the events in HD?
If so which ones?
