For the
third week in a
row, we've got Verizon's FiOS TV service headed to new parts of
Washington. This week, video franchises were approved in both Kenmore and Marysville, while the rest of the action went down on the east coast. Starting at the bottom, we've got Florida's Hidden Creek development in Tampa getting served; moving on up, we see 23,000 households in Rockville, Maryland getting blanketed sometime later this year. Finally, residents of Amityville and Kent, NY can expect FiOS TV soon so long as the approvals slide on by the New York State Public Service Commission. Pretty busy week, huh Verizon? Let's keep it up. We'll see you next week -- here's to hoping your neck of the woods gets covered within the next seven days.

you forgot to mention that Verzion workers might go on strike by Monday morning and it would effect Verizon Fios and DSL.
I received an email this week from my ISP Time Warner Cable NYC. They are offering the "Price Lock Triple Play", which is basically your Digital Phone, DTV and Internet Package locked in at a "low price" with a 2 year commitment (early cancellation fees apply).
Is this FIOS fear? Is FIOS really that good?
In a word, yes. FiOS delivers the fastest internet and best HD PQ (0 compression) of any carrier bar none. Once they roll out their HD channel expansion everywhere, they'll be the best of all worlds. They also usually price to compete pretty aggressively, so if they're coming to your area, I'd definitely give them a look.
Actually, that "deal" from Crime Warner is ONLY available outside Manhattan and has been in place for about a year at this point. The people this deal is available for also get more than double the HD channels we get...
