Ever since AT&T decided it would
take its U-verse service to the chilly region of Northeast Wisconsin, Time Warner Cable has been pushing out a somewhat steady stream of high-definition channels (
big surprise, right?). Now that a few weeks have passed since residents in Green Bay / Appleton received their last batch of newcomers, the carrier has lit up four more: CNN HD (731), Fox News Channel HD (745), Science HD (772) and Hallmark Movie Channel HD (774). Now, if only this whole Brett Favre thing would go away, you could actually turn away from ESPN HD long enough to enjoy 'em. [Disclosure: Engadget is part of the Time Warner family]
And STILL nothing added in the other half of the Wisconsin cluster, SE Wisconsin. *sigh*
Time Warner has to step it up in SE Wisconsin or I'm jumping ship along with everyone else.
I got the inside scoop > Favre is going to San Francisco where the weather is perfect.
Now that Time Warner add Fox News HD it won't be long for BrightHouse Networks to do the same in Florida.
They seem to follow what Time Warner do.
Hmmm good thing at&t just added 4 more HD channels to their line up also.
· Bravo HD – Channel 1181
· CNBC HD – Channel 1216
· USA Networks HD- Channel 1124
· Sci Fi Channel HD – Channel 1151
Yeah, the RUMOR was that we (TWC customers in NE WIS) were going to get the NBC Universal Package (Bravo, CNBC, USA, & Sci-Fi), but instead we're left with pretenders.
This "HD contect Race" is pretty weak. It's like everyone else is America or Russia, and Time Warner is Jamaica.
I couldn't wait fot TWC in SE Wisconsin, so I jumped ship already. I think I have something like 75HD channels, it will be years before TWC get there at their pace.
