NASA airing two hours of historical HD next week

In case you missed the Discovery Channel's "When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions" and are too frugal to buy the Blu-ray boxed set, NASA TV will be airing two hours of historical footage in HD next week. It's a small subset of the 150-hours of footage that made the leap to HD for the Discovery Channel's production, but like we said, it's free. Honestly, some of the footage drawn from the older end of the 50-year span was less than stellar in picture quality, but that's a limitation of the source material. The special will air on August 8, 11 and 12 at 9AM EST. If your carrier sends you the bits, let us know how it looks in the comments below.

So is this on Discovery Channel or NASA tv? NASA tv is not in HD as far as I know. Just curious.
From the release, NASA says they're pulling out all the stops and airing this in HD: "NASA Television will broadcast a special high definition (HDTV) feed of two hours of highlights from America's human spaceflight history as the agency celebrates its 50th anniversary."
I was wondering the same. I've never seen NASA HD, but this sounds like something I'd like. I'll check on Discovery HD since I now have it with my brand new DirecTV dish. :) Gave up on Time Warner's worthless HD lineup.
Okay, I just flipped through the guide. Neither NASA nor Discovery HD say anything about this special. Guess we'll have to keep waiting to see.
I hope my replacement TV comes in time so I can record. One of my HDMI port are locked no idea why.
I came home and got this: DVI ALERT: Your HDTV does not support HDCP. Please disconnect your HDMI connector and use the YPrPB connectoir to continue watching TV.
Cable company says it happens sometimes but was unable to help me unlock it. HDMI 1 works but not HDMI 2.
Magnavox is sending me a new TV 7-10 days.
