We'd say the flood gates are officially
open. Not only are the two major
fiber players in America making sure subscribers get their fill of the 2008 Olympics, but a
swarm of cable companies are doing the same. Aside from Comcast, Charter,
Mediacom and a few others, we've now learned that Blue Ridge Communications will be launching USA HD, CNBC HD, Olympic Basketball HD and Olympic Soccer HD (saywha?) on August 8th. Bright House Networks has revealed plans to light up NBC Universal HD (at least in Michigan), while Time Warner Cable tosses in USA HD and Universal HD for places not already gifted. Gee, thanks guys, you shouldn't have.

Time Warner Cable in Northeast Wisconsin (Green Bay/Appleton) will not be getting USA HD or either of NBC's special HD Olympic channels. The only thing they're doing here is making Universal HD free for everyone during the Games.
Iam lost I keep hearing on NBC that the Olympic kicks off Friday. However Universal HD start showing games Tuesday or Wednesday I know they had ladies soccer on last night Norway vs US.
USA HD (temp carriage for Olympic Games)?
It makes me so angry that channels like USAHD and SCIFI HD exist, but I can't see them on Time Warner Cable NYC!
Aren't Burn Notice and In Plain Sight enough of a reason to carry these channels? Come ON!!

Time Warner Dayton, OH is offering a channel on 769 called "Beijing HD" which is the USA HD coverage and they are also offering Universal HD at no charge to HD customers during the games (typically on the Premium HD tier with MOJO, HD Net, & HD Net Movies for $6.95 more per month)
Hopefully they end up just keeping USA HD on the lineup after the games are over.
Unfortunately Time Warner Central Texas are not offering Universal HD for free during the Olympics. Seems it up to individual divisions.
