KOMU-TV brings HD news to mid-Missouri
Though not the first HD news station in Missouri, KOMU-TV is the first station in the mid-state to bring high-def news to locals. The NBC affiliate serving the Columbia and Jefferson City areas has just went live with HD newscasts, including the region's first high-definition radar. We're seeing these things pop up at a pretty impressive rate nowadays -- puts a smile on our face, that's for sure.[Thanks, Annie]

I'd be willing to bet this would be the first HD news staffed by journalism students from the J-School in Colombia.
When I was a student at Mizzou, our journalism program was the only one that ran a commercial tv station (or had a newspaper that competed with the other local paper in town).
I'm surprised it took this this long to do it.
I saw their 2nd live HD broadcast friday evening. It's interesting to watch them still getting used to the wider aspect, like the weather guy not taking advantage of the fact that he can move over to the sides more.
@Eric... You being a grad of Mizzou should know that it's ColUmbia, not Colombia.
Nice.
