Comcast lighting up 15 HD channels in Chicago, Illinois
Is this a trend we spot, or just a small flurry of Comcast expansions that sadly won't affect the rest of the nation? While we're obviously hoping, praying, pleading for the former to be true, citizens of Chicago, Illinois can expect a whopping 15 new high-def stations to arrive on their EPG in a matter of days. Aside from the highly-anticipated Big Ten Network launch, users will also find Weather Channel HD (270), FX HD (267), Fox News HD (265), Bravo HD (278), NFL Network HD (234), SPEED HD (237) and our personal favorite, QVC HD on slot 282. Check the read link for the full list, or just turn to QVC HD and zone out for a few days.[Thanks, cypherstream]

I'm really excited that Comcast is starting to roll out FX HD, hopefully that channel starts showing up a lot more.
I can't tell you how much I yearn for HD racing, please let Speed HD loose in the Denver/Boulder, CO market.
Comcast in The City of Boston proper (and neighboring Brookline) , but NOT the rest of the Boston area, added many of these channels Wednesday (Fuse, Bravo, CNBC,ESPN News,Bio,IFC,WE,FX,Fox News).
The large (and widening) gap between these two cities (acquired from AT&T Broadband as one system) and the rest of the Boston area is due to the formers' requirement (several years old) for a box to get Expanded Basic - those channels appear to have gone digital recently. Across the Charles here in Watertown, we may have to wait a couple of months to get a few of those. We did get seven adds in July, 'tho (a few analogs were migrated).
OK, now RCN has to deploy a few more of those rumored 100 HD channels here in Chicago to keep up
The Big Ten network went live earlier today here in Chicago, cant wait til the 19th for them to add the rest. Although the NFL HD has been around close to a year now, maybe longer.
It's called competition. AT&T U-Verse is making a push into Chicagoland area. We should also thank AT&T for Comcast's new HD channels.
Hopefully these channels will also carry HD content most of the time.
@ James
As an employee in the Denver Metro market for Comcast, your future looks bright. 6 HD channels are being tested in Greeley/CO Springs.
