"I need help! I want a small pocket camcorder but I'm not sure which one to get. I don't want to fall into the hype of the Flip because I worry two hours won't be enough. What should I be looking for when considering a small camcorder and where can I get a good quality one with expandable memory? Thanks!"
I used to be a fan of the AIW line. I have owned two of them and they have served me well. The AIW 8500dv (agp) is still going strong in my back-up PC, although I think the fan is finally dying. However, these cards are not nearly as compelling as they used to be. In the "old days" you had to conserve expansion slots. With the network card or maybe two, sound card, video card, random expansion card with the latest USB/firewire/SATA ports, there was not always room for a tuner. Now everything you need is integrated into the motherboard. Sticking the tuner on the video card only means that you have to upgrade both of them at the same time later on. No thank you.
