Hi Akhilesh, thanks for the info...ur description rings a bell.....I have had similar problems with Worldspace, in that 8th wonder of the world called Hyderabad...almost a parallel of what u experienced...the Pune-based toll-free number responders are polite and well-behaved and prompt, but all they can do (apparently) is to send emails to the Hyderabad end, where the response is zero. I even asked Pune whether the Hyd office had closed down for Dussehera, but they said No (at least not officially closed) so my guess is that the local service office of Worldspace at Hyd is enjoying Dussehera holiday at company expense.
If u want to read some more, I want to expound on my pet theory...I think the problem is with Hyderabad culture. This is bcoz I face similar problems with nearly everything...the latest? My Tata indicom mobile went out of order within 6 months of purchase (Haier model) so I sent it for repair...they took one look and said, "Oh, the mother board is konked out, we will replace at no extra cost" and made me wait a week for this, then returned the set apparently repaired...but Lo! and Behold! It had exactly the same problem for which I had sent it along in the first place...so in Hyderabad, when they are prompt, u can be sure they have the wrong solution in mind...and the culture is be fast and fake ur expertise, and the world will be fooled by ur appearance, and if u can't do that, then just don't provide any service, stall things, till the customer gets so frustrated he asks for a refund, at which point you must tell them, as cooly as possible, how to go about getting that refund! Yeeeeeech!!!!
