Soundmatters reveals foxLmb portable Bluetooth speaker
Soundmatters already has the living room taken care of, so it makes sense to see it aiming for those times when you need sound everywhere else. All set to debut at CEDIA, said company has unveiled its foxL portable speaker, which measures in at 5.6- x 2.2- x 1.4-inches and promises "audiophile" grade sound quality. The foxL is also available with integrated Bluetooth (foxLmb), and both flavors include a pair of 1-inch "Twoofers" (yes, we're serious) and a Li-ion battery good for around five hours on a full charge. Expect these to surface in early September for $199 and $249, respectively.

Apparently audiophile grade sound quality is anything that audiophiles are willing to overpay for.
Is it really audiophile quality though? I don't see any mention of vibration dampening feet, bluetooth signal filters, a power cleaning stone for the battery, gold plated radio antenna, a vacuum tube, 1000ft of hand wound copper coil, a meter gauge or a beechwood knob that goes up to 11. And while $199 is no quite affordable, a true audiophile device should cost 10x as much.
I have tried various portable speakers and all have been dissapointing. this baby has midrange and bass in a small portable speaker. i put it through its paces and the better the audio sample the better it got. nothing else this small comes close and i have tried them all.
for the size its really impressive.
call me when someone figures out bluetooth 5.1 setup.....it really shouldn't be that hard.
