Chief / Sanus to debut automatic motorized TV tilt mount
You know what time it (almost) is, so you'll be prepared to handle a whole new breed of TV mounts as well. With CEDIA upon us, Chief Manufacturing and Sanus are both rolling out the same automatic motorized tilt mount, though it'll be dubbed LT15 for Chief and CM8 for Sanus. Put simply, this was designed for folks who want / need to mount their set higher than eye level. Upon receiving a signal via optical cable that the set was turned on, it automatically tilts the unit downward in order to give everyone a better view. Surprisingly, the asking price on this is just $299, which -- all things considered -- isn't half bad.

So judging by the picture on the right, the $299 gets you an illegal immigrant who stands next to the TV and adjusts it for you. Cool. I just love ancient technology.
My favorite thing about Sanus and CEDIA was that when CEDIA was in Indianapolis Sanus' booth was at the end of a hallway on the way to the main show floow. The whole time you walked down the long hallway you could see their banner, "Sanus Systems" that had the first 'S' in the name obsucred by a pillar that was in front of their booth.
I still chuckle.
wait, 299, so then why are all other mounts so freaking expensice. I smell conspiracy.
You can pick up an Ergotron tilting mount for ~ 1/3 the price. It aint motorized but I can tilt my 100+ lb. plasma with one hand. Ergotron list is $119 but I got mine for ~$80 on-line.
