Why cant I buy a profile 2.0 player, that just outputs bitstream (no audio decoding), and DVD's at 480i, and only have a single HDMI out cable on it.
Getting rid of the DVD up-conversion, the Audio decoding, and the 7.1 analog audio, 2 digital audios, composite, S, and Component videos (thats 15 wires) and letting my expensive AV receiver do what I bought it to do should bring the cost of the device below 300 bucks.
Just look at Pioneer Elite. if you have an Elite TV, AVR, and BD player, you are throwing your money away because they all can decode Audio, make SD look nicer, Home Media Gallery support, etc... There should be a way to buy all Elite Products without overlaping the features. But that is common with most BD players when you already have a nice AVR or TV.
“Getting too close completely blurred what we saw to the point of incomprehension, but again, this shows a whole heap of potential that's fascinating to us.”
