Panasonic offers up 65-inch 1080p TH-65VX100U plasma
Originally unwrapped at CEDIA (and just now made official), Panasonic's TH-65VX100U is a 1080p behemoth aimed specifically at the "high-end custom home theater enthusiast." It becomes the first in the outfit's line of Premiere Series models and features a 60,000:1 contrast ratio (with an "industry-leading gradation level of 7,160 steps"), 18-bit digital signal processing, 16 adjustment menus and a Full HD (1,920 x 1,080) panel. This living room centerpiece is currently on track for a January release, though there's no telling how badly it'll hurt your wallet when the time comes.

God I can only imagine how awesome (and pretentious) that would look in my condo.
Putting a ginormous plasma against a window in this kind of apartment is a crime. This kind of living room screams for an electrical screen that can be hidden in the ceiling.
How many guys would want this for watching NFL games and movies?
I know I'd love to have one. But I bet it's quite expensive.
For only 65"? I wouldn't spend a dollar more than $8,250 for it. Because I could always sacrifice 5" and get a 9th Gen Pioneer Kuro 60" for $5,500 and 9th Gen Pioneer Kuro Elite 60" for $7,500.
MadMike, their street prices are far lower than that.
screen over 60" always have a crazy price tag on it, especially lcd and plasma screens. I want to have one of course but when you can get so much more with that kind of money, i don't know why you'd want to buy this one
That pic is a joke! That screen is between 92" & 100". Not even close to 65"
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm gimme gimme. I have a Panasonic 50" and 42", this baby would make a fine new addition to the family.
So what's the moral of the story? Buy this thing and look like the douche-bag in the picture with a girlfriend that's with him only because she's using him for his money?? Sign me up!
