CEDIA 2008 is behind us, and CES 2009 has already been spotted just around the bend. while i voted for the bravia; i have to admit that THX is genius for certifing a DOOR. i seriously think they will make some big bucks on them. they do get a percentage of every item sold right? up next THX cert carpet.

What you don't realize apparently is that doors currently available for theaters suck big.

The only real option is a solid core door, but they still pretty much suck for limiting sound transmissions.

The new Oppo Blu-Ray player with SACD and possible DVD-A support gets my vote.

The Tivo HD XL is pretty nice too.

I'm still very confused. I thought that after the Fiji/TV Pack announcement, then at CEDIA there would be several low/medium end OEM announcements of products. I want to buy one of these, but cannot find out how to by a VMC TV Pack OEM machine from HP or Dell or something. How do I do this?

I have to say that personally it's just kind of rolling over me, I guess. I'm not particularly interested in any of this stuff because it's so outrageously expensive.
