Friday Night Lights S3 tackles DirecTV on October 1st
Earlier this year, we heard that the struggling Friday Night Lights series would return for a third season, but in a rather peculiar way. Now, we finally know the start date for the aforesaid drama. Beginning on October 1st, DirecTV subscribers will be the only ones out there able to catch the third season on the satcaster's own The 101. The partnership was struck in order to keep the lightly watched show from going under prematurely, and for those operating sans DirecTV, you'll just have to be patient until it hits NBC in the coming months. Good luck resisting the urge to torrent -- you know Tim Riggins couldn't.

WWRD? torrent. Although it sickens me to think of watching this great show on my computer. oh, wait, I think my 360 plays xvid...
Get the HD torrent (usually about a gig) and burn to DVD.
It's so unfortunate that such an incredibly written television show with such a brilliant cast about America's favorite sport cannot survive strongly. It's rather interesting because really every background and group of people is for the most part represented in this show....and they all have relatively believable problems. However, as the studies show, the people who seem to watch this the most are the affluent, Caucasians who do not happen to actually watch it, but instead DVR it, such as myself, who fits into all three categories. I just find it hard to understand how someone would not like this show and would not be watching it enough for it to have a full season run (not a half one) and to be on a major network right off the bat (although I do have Directv)
People don't watch it because it's poorly written. Watching the first episode I thought wow this 90210 with football, not to mention all the characters were terrible cliche. Start QB gets hurt and the backup has to come in, alcoholic RB, etc. Never watched it again. Talking to people who've caught episodes after that I hear it's gotten even more ridiculous.
you do realize that this was based off of a book, that is tell-all of real life. some of the things you call cliche, actually happened to these people. Yes, the show is a little embellished, but many of the situations are real.
FNL FTW!
The show WAS great. The first season was fantastic, unfortunately to try and boost ratings they added soap opera like situations. The girls are hot and the charachters make for a good show, also the Football looks quite real. If you took out the entire "Landry murder plot" it would have been fine. It should be on basic cable at least it's better than "The closer" and "I love the 80's" .......Also EJnelly how many alcoholic running backs do you know?? Or crippled quarterbacks?? Or cheerleaders turned jesus freaks? I'm not sure what town your from but there not typical sterotypes, and ceartinly not cliche'. Also p.s. lot's of people have drinking problems..........keep blogging and avoid women....dork. Dont respond either I'll never look at this site again.
