It's the case of the mysteriously appearing
U-verse cabinets all over again, and this time it's taking the Triad by storm. The images you see above are of an AT&T utility cabinet at the corner of Peace Haven Road and Mountain View Road in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Our tipster (and photographer) dug a little deeper and asked a local AT&T store manager to "explain" the in-store U-verse display, only to find that the manager was expecting AT&T to launch U-verse services in the area by "early next year." We knew AT&T was
spending some serious dough in the Carolinas, and truthfully, we'll be stoked to see said investment finally lead to something tangible. Now, how soon before the company strings U-verse
on down to the Triangle?

Future roadkill
I was excited till you guys announced that ATT will be down-grading quality even more... BOOOOO for them... These cabinets will be future hiding places for Humans once Judgement Day comes and we're fighting off swarms of T-2s...
Too bad they cannot increase the compression of the cabinet's size like they are doing with the HDlite video signal.
Maybe sooner than we think if this post is to be believed...

I am with andyg8180 on this one. Was prepared to switch from TWC to AT&T, but now...I think not.
Yesssss..... I freaking HATE Time Warner... Can't wait till this is offered here... i live Smack dab between Winston-Salem and Greensboro
Burlington Connecticut had had those for as long as I can remember since we moved in in November 2005 actually late October and still no U-Verse after almost three years?
they are showing up in Monterey, CA also.
Where in Monterey have you seen the U-Verse boxes? Wonder if my neighborhood is one of them...
The word in Charlotte is that U-verse will launch during the 4th quarter.
Well well...........
Greensboro is right down the street from Winston........
good news for us here I guess.......Maybe NOW Time Warner will get more competitive with their pricing......
hell I left AT&T 3 years ago because their garbage ass DSL wasnt worth it compared to Road Runner.........
if the DSL Speeds have sped up and they have more HD Channels than Time Warner at launch I may just consider switching
I live in a neighborhood right on the edge of Apex and Cary near Hwy 55. For about 1 month now, AT&T has been digging holes in neighbors yards and I see their utility vans sitting at an array of boxes just outside the neighborhood every day. I'm not sure if they dropped a new one in or not, but I get the feeling something is coming here. I'm ready to dump TWC, their HD box is just horrendous (never had trouble with the non hd digital service). Would be nice to hear from AT&T on when they will bring it, otherwise I'm just going to get satellite.
