Time Warner Cable adds Science HD / Disney HD in San Diego
While Comcast has been handing out HD channels like a rich guy hands out candy on Halloween, TWC has been mighty stingy with its high-def expansions. Handing out a network here and there, we see the carrier gifting San Diego, California with two more: Science HD (780) and Disney HD (763). Not much, but we suppose beggars can't be choosers. Well, actually... [Disclosure: Engadget is part of the Time Warner family][Thanks, Joebnsd]

This is only for ex Adelphia areas. They seem to get more HD channels than us but don't get VOD. San Diego has yet to get Food Network HD and HGTV HD. No HD Showcase OD but they somehow advertise it. Some new HD channels could be added to us but they might be treating us like NYC. They give some areas more and some areas less.
Not to mention there are still problems with Cable Cards at TW in San DIego. Don't know about elsewhere. But last October they promised me they'd fix it in five months. Well, it's been over 11 months and counting!
Can we say class action?
I just checked. These channels are not available in San Diego proper. Not yet anyway. Someday. Maybe. Not today though.
Time Warner sucks at adding new content. The ONLY reason I'm still with them is for the firewire. It's too bad the satellite companies don't allow recording (as opposed to time shifting) of HD content.
