<generator>Blogsmith http://www.blogsmith.com/</generator><item><title><![CDATA[Comments on HANNspree launches 28-inch HT09 1080p LCD HDTV]]></title><link>http://hd.engadget.com/2008/10/07/hannspree-launches-28-inch-ht09-1080p-lcd-hdtv/</link><guid isPermaLink="true">http://hd.engadget.com/2008/10/07/hannspree-launches-28-inch-ht09-1080p-lcd-hdtv/</guid><description><![CDATA[This sounds very much like the monitor I bought recently but with a digital tuner added.<br><br>That's no bad thing, there's not a stuck or dead pixel on it and the performance is pretty good (those brightness levels & contrast ratios are PC monitor spec not TV spec tho).<br>It's a lot of monitor 'real estate' for very little money considering how much 24" screens have been until recently.<br>HDMI & VGA connections too.<br><br>It's a pity it doesn't come with a dedicated xp driver (vista only) but mine works perfectly with the latest Nvidia & ATi graphics drivers (it just means you have to learn to use the buttons, instead of an on-screen menu, to adjust the settings such as turning down the contrast & brightness - and you will want to turn them down).<br><br>If you already have a TV tuner on your PC you could save a few $/£/€ and just buy the monitor. The HG281D monitor is about $470 from Newegg & Novotech have it around £260 right now.<br>That's what I call a bargain.<br><br>The built-in speakers are better than nothing, just, but probably the first thing that would annoy.<br>But a  link to a proper 5.1 hi-fi receiver is the only way to go really anyways so who cares about them?<br><br>1080p is fine @ 28" (27.5" visible) - so long as you're using it like a monitor and reasonably close to the screen.<br>Movies & games look superb on it. <br>You could do a hell of a lot worse for a stack more cash.]]></description><dc:creator><![CDATA[Multi-format-mayhem]]></dc:creator><pubDate>Oct 8th 2008 6:20AM</pubDate></item><item><title><![CDATA[Comments on HANNspree launches 28-inch HT09 1080p LCD HDTV]]></title><link>http://hd.engadget.com/2008/10/07/hannspree-launches-28-inch-ht09-1080p-lcd-hdtv/</link><guid isPermaLink="true">http://hd.engadget.com/2008/10/07/hannspree-launches-28-inch-ht09-1080p-lcd-hdtv/</guid><description><![CDATA[HANNspree?
