With the HD-DVR by hauppauge I can't help but question the need for cablecard support anymore. I mean yeah, had they actually done it right and released it as a standalone component it might make more sense. The fact is that for $250 you can get all the benefits of a cablecard without the expense of one of these manufactured htpc's. For about half the price you could build one yourself with an HD-DVR, a HD-HR and an ATSC tuner. Adam http://www.hdupdate.com
Good point James, Media center needs to get in the game with the HD-DVR, it really is a nice piece of equipment. I personally like snapstream beyond tv better than media center. I admire your dedication to WMC, it has its strengths

I guess that would depend if you want to use Windows Media Center or not. Currently the HD-DVR from Happauge doesn't work within Media Center.

HP Pavilion Elite d5000t ATX has similar functionality and unlimited add-on storage. Cost less.
