Cox delivers a half dozen HD channels to San Diego, California
While Time Warner Cable and AT&T have been bolstering their HD lineups in sunny San Diego, Cox has been sitting idly by watching the time pass. Finally, the carrier is stepping up and doing a little something to keep things competitive by offering up a fresh half dozen HD channels in the California city. Beginning on October 15th, Cox will deliver MTV HD (730), Spike HD (745), VH1 HD (746), Nickelodeon HD (747), CMT HD (761) and Planet Green HD (783), while Palladia HD will be relocated to slot 732. If you're still unsatisfied, you can also look forward to Comedy HD and AMC HD hitting the EPG in the near future.[Thanks, Jason]

This is weird. We already had HD MTV on channel 730 but it disappeared a couple of weeks ago! The others are new though.
The MTV HD that was on 730 was MHD, an HD channel by MTV (but not the HD feed of MTV itself) it disappeared because MTV recently renamed the channel Palladia HD to avoid confusion between MHD and the MTV HD channels.
Either way, I'm in Imperial Beach, and I'm looking forward to the new channels on my TiVo, Though I won't have to update my season passes till AMC HD and Comedy HD arrive...
If you think Time Warner bolstered their HD, think again. They added *two* channels, and they were *regional*. The majority of customers did not receive them, with no date on the ticket.
You also have to take into account that TWO channels that TWC have listed, NBA-HD and Fox-Sports-HD, the former has aired content once or twice in two years, the latter has NEVER aired content, ever. But it's a channel.
AFAIK there's no real competition since Cable Companies are regional. I can't switch to a different carrier unless I go sat, so Cox could add 200 channels, and TWC would just sit back and laugh.
