it hasnt been confirmed until now how ridicules would engadget look if they released this earlier and it turned out to be just a rumor they need to wait for it to be confirmed
looks like I'll start watching this show again come Dec 8th. They were dimwits for not being one of the first channels to go HD.
Exactly. How can they be a technology-oriented channel and not be shown in HD, while the Food Network and Lifetime can? Those Moms who watch it don't even care about HD.
This channel should have been HD from the beginning of HD.
Give me TechTV in SD over the crap called G4 in HD anyday.

Seriously, I don't think I've ever seen a provider that shows G4 at more than about 240 lines. If it were in HD, maybe I'd watch it some.

Maybe if they want higher numbers they should try putting out material that is actually good.
Y'know, that Q3 drop in viewers coud be because Comcast dumped the channel from its basic cable packages. The only reason I have Comcast's cable TV is beause it's actually CHEAPER to have cable Internet + $13 el-cheapo analog cable than it is to have cable Internet alone.
G4 used to be part of that $13 cable TV pakage. And when it was, I watched it.
holy geez, how long ago was THAT? I've had basic cable with Comcast for 3 years and never had this channel.

I totally agree. Half of G4's current line up will look horrible in HD because it was filmed in SD and will likely be featured in everyone's favorite stretch-o-vision.
BTW, Screen Savers was an awesome show, and one of the few I actually watched. I also miss Fresh Gear.
Anyway, what's the odds Mojo shows get picked up to fill the void? After all, Comcast owns a stake in Mojo parent InDemand.

Why not move the way of HDNet and air High Def movies outside of primetime and some channel-specific original programming in primetime.
Oooh, wonderful! Then I can see Olivia in all of Comcast's super-ultra-compressed, kind-of-sort-of, looks-more-like-a-video-CD "high definition"!
So Comcast adds yet one more HD channel onto an already saturated pipeline. Their HD channels already look like sh*t, and we're supposed to be happy that yet another channel is going to take more HD bandwidth? Not.
It's about God damn time! How are you going to have a show in SD that's all about the latest and greatest gadgets, game systems and HDTVs?
I loved tech. TSS was 10 million times better than AOTS without the eye candy. Xplay is the only show I watch anymore and it is the bastard stepchild of Extended play.
The station not only lost its way but most of its brians in the process of putting boobs on the air. Fresh Gear was a great show....... Damn that whole station has gone to hell.
After the TechTV ended, this crap they call G4 should just die. Not one good damn show. X-Play sucks now. No longer funny and everything is about sex and profanity. It like that entire station is being run by some 16 year Jack Asses..
Bring back TechTV...
