Humax announces 320GB Freesat+ Foxsat-HDR for UK market
Humax's FOXSAT-HD FreeSat receiver was perfectly fine for those with no need for timeshifting, but for the throngs of others who just can't live without some sort of DVR functionality, your day has finally come. The aforementioned company has today launched its Freesat+ Foxsat-HDR, which packs two FreeSat HD digital TV tuners (which can also access analog channels), support for radio / interactive channels, a 320GB hard drive for storing up to 80 hours of HD material or 200 hours of SD content and an HDMI port to boot. The downright sexy set-top-box also includes Dolby Digital audio output, two SCART sockets, a bundled remote, radio recording, split recording and the ability to "live pause" with instant rewind. Get ready to grab yours next month for £299 ($487).

Aside from the price that thing looks pretty awesome.
320gbs is nice
(but not exactly very generous - with 1tb & 750gb HDDs now so cheap why do they insist on, what, helping clear stocks of these small HDDs?)
Hopefully it'll be as easy to upgrade as the Sky HD box.
The price.
Oh dear that price.....are they only hopeful of single digit sales?
Now that the Sky HD DVR box (which obviously provides access, depending on package bought, to a far wider range of HD programming) is available for £75 ($160) for new customers that price is just insane.
If you want only the free stuff it'd be cheaper to take the Sky HD box and pay the £10/mth for the HD free services.
IIRC that means you'd miss out on the ITV HD channel when it arrives (provided arrangements don't change in the meantime) but little else.
Better it's available as a chice than not I suppose but outside of those in the company(s) connected I just don't see this selling at that price.
Ooops, this isn't last summer.
That £75 is actually now only worth $118 or so.
