i think the 32 inch ones will be closer to the $349 area considering they went for $399 last year. the others will probably be right around what he stated, if not a little less
32" is exactly what I am looking for this year. It will be mounted a good distance away in the bedroom, so quality/name brand isn't as important as a good price.
I can walk into Costco right now and pick up a 32-incher for $399.99.
yeah most of those prices that he qouted are already available at costco... nothing new there unless we are talking about sony samsung panasonic sharp... then we got ourselves a deal
nothing like a good ol westinghouse 19" for 200 which will probably crap out because power failure after about 2 hours
Not everyone lives near a costco. The closest to me is 30+ minutes away. Through in the membership fee and the price evens out a bit. Although I am surprised that they are that cheap in the store, nothing that cheap is shown online so I had no idea they were that inexpensive.
yeah... understood but just saying... i saw a panny 720p fd18 for 799.99 and the 50 for 999.99 and occasionally they have huge manufacturer instant rebates...
The Sears Black Friday ad has 42" plasmas for $799-899 and 50" for $1099-$1299.
Last year I was interested in picking up a smaller set - 26" or 32" but didn't really see any good deals. Also, I can't force myself to wait in line to spend beaucoup bucks for things I don't really need and will end up breaking anyway.
David, do you know what Brand of Plasmas Sears will sell on Black friday for that price?
Friday 5am-Noon they have a Sharp 46" 1080p LCD for $899, Sylvania 42" LCD $699, Panasonic 42" 720p Plasma $699 (TH-42PX80U) and a few others.
I'd get the Panny Plasma if I were you. I'm sure other B&M competitors will have that Panasonic for a similar price and it's a good set.
yea that Sharp would sound nice IF it was the Aquos Model.........
but at least the prices are WAAAAAAAAAAAY down
This is the only time of the year Sharp really cashes in.
Even if it was with the Aquos model people should be worried that it's probably the 64U which still has banding issues.
Sharp models can't really compete with the big names.
I rather take a Sammy 6 series or Sony W by far. Even a Toshiba over a Sharp.
The best deal from that list is the Panasonic by far. Yet I could probably go to Brandsmart right now and get it for that price. It's not worth waiting in that line to pick it up at that price. If you told me $499 yeah I'd wait.
Has anyone heard anything further regarding the report from earlier this year, that Walmart was going to be selling 50" flat panel TVs for $600, on Black Friday? I don't recall if it was LCD or Plasma, and I don't recall that they mentioned a brand either.
I was hoping this article would elaborate on that particular nugget, but it's not even mentioned. It also seems to me, too, that these predictions are a little too conservative (high, that is) for Black Friday, compared to what I've been seeing in weekly ads, already.
Man, even if these are a little low, I'm still excited. It's almost impossible to find a decent 42" 720p for under $1000 now. I'm glad I'm starting to save. :)

Scratch that. I got a 42" 1080p at best buy for 700 last weekend.
People you might want to wait for OLED, unless you have to buy one now?
meanwhile, Sony's XBR line are the Best out there, you get what you paid for!
