They might have to price these TVs this high to pay for the repair bills if they are anything like their DLP technology TVs. I owned a Mits DLP and got rid of it after it was blowing out the light bulbs prematurely. Who knows how many hours the lasers will last and how much to replace? I would never recommend anyone buying a laser TV until at least the 3rd generation when the problems have hopefully been fixed. Just keep in mind, new technology means a new set of problems.
