There were rumor that went so far back, and now it's finally here. The TiVo Series2 can only decode MPEG-2, which is too 'bulky' for streaming services.  The TiVo Series3, TiVo HD, and TiVo HD XL have hardware which can also support H.264 and VC-1.  H.264 is used for the YouTube streaming support. I'd prefer to keep my money and not have to buy an Apple TV or other device, so that would be great.  I have a Mac Mini that I use as a test HTPC, but it can't get HD movies from the iTunes store, only Apple TV can.
