Really? Were they watching TV 4 years ago when The WB was still around? (It's been The CW for a while now). Nice to actually see latin-american HD news making the rounds around here. :)

But I feel compelled to make a correction by saying the latin Warner Bros. channel (btw only available on cable/satellite, rather than OTA like the The WB/CW) is actually called The Warner Channel, and, before the channel went for a slight rebranding years ago, it was referred to as WBTV. Also, the programming was quite different from the American WB, as many of the shows from the heyday of the late fifth US network were shown on other channels (Buffy was on FOX for its entire run and Dawson's Creek was on Sony Entertainment Television, to name a few) while Warner Channel itself at that time had Friends, ER, Babylon 5 and many classic or short-lived shows from the Warner Bros. Television catalog.

Henrique is right, HBO HD is indeed available through TVA in São Paulo. Don't know about the rest of Latin America though. Also, the ad this post mentions has been running for about a month, and ads for HBO's latest Brazilian original series, Alice, have been running since as early as august with a tiny "available in HD" logo near the end.

Kirkpatrick
