This seems to be a variation on how DLP currently can deliver 3D content. My Samsung DLP set runs at 120 hz and claims it can project two 60 hz 1080 images that can be viewed through shutter glasses to display a 3D image. I've not had the chance to see this happens due to Samsung's sloppy marketing of this feature of their set's capabilities but it doesn't seem like a big jump from two related images to two independent images being swapped in a 120hz timespace.
The article didn't mention it but it would seem that headphones would be a must to keep the two audio streams separate.
Please don't read this as a negative comment. I'm all for experimentation and pushing the capabilities of this technology.
