AT&T makes stronger push for U-verse in South Mississippi
AT&T isn't kidding around with its intentions to get U-verse into Mississippi as soon as humanly possible, and now we've got the provider making an even stronger push in Hancock County. More specifically, it recently asked the Hancock County Board of Supervisors to allow its fiber-based services to be "marketed in unincorporated areas of the county." Spokeswoman Kathleen Shaughnessy noted that AT&T would charge "whatever the market would bear, but that it would be very competitive." Of course, we've been hearing these type things for months now with no apparent forward progress, so we're beginning to wonder if AT&T's sentiments aren't falling on dear ears.

They need to get to Jackson ASAP!!!! They said they were going to come almost a year ago, yet, we are still without and Comcast just got really craptastic. I am going to drop them and go to Dish Network, but I have been holding out for U-Verse. I feel the need to get in touch with this spokesperson.
I was talking to an AT&T guy just the other day, and, apparently, Uverse should be rolling out up in North Alabama sometime early next year.
Well wouldn't you know they are now rolling this out in St. Louis. Of course I have a contract with DirectTV which I really do like so I ask the sales guy can I tap in the just the internet and phone part? I already have ATT DSL and Vonage, happy with both but feel the need for more speed. No go, you have to buy into the whole bundle or nothing, bummer, like if they gave me 2 out or 3 and made it compelling I might switch TV at a later point. But I am going to be so deep in DirectTV hardware by that point I may never switch now.
