King Kong gets additional features for Blu-ray release January 20

One time Xbox 360 HD DVD player pack-in King Kong is finally making its Blu-ray debut, complete with U-Control interactive features and some additional bits we'd missed the first go round. Apparently Universal has seen fit to replace the previous edition's Dolby Digital+ 5.1 soundtrack with a 5.1 DTS-HD MA version, as well as the Extended Edition footage (on an already 3 hour+ movie?) that was missing from the HD DVD. Making the jump from HDi to BD-Live is online My Scenes sharing, just in case you still needed a reason to pay the $29.98 MSRP for this disc January 20.
Why even bother, it was a horrible movie and around 2 hours+ too long.
still haven't seen it...but wasn't it called simply Kong, and not King Kong?
It's still missing tons of extras from the DVD.
looking back on it now, it's far easier to admit this movie was one big pile of suck...
I liked it from a cinematic standpoint but it seemed too long. I can't believe there's an extended edition. I wonder if they enable it using seamless branching.
Does it come with a half decent movie? That's the only bonus feature that would sell me on this ill conceived pile of garbage.
By the way, I had the HD DVD version of this movie (not by choice) and if you thought the special effects looked bad on standard def, wait until you see the total joke that is the hi-def version. It looks like they were trying to make it crappy on purpose.
No 7.1? DVD has 5.1 sound. Why are the studios trying to get us excited about 5.1 on Blu-ray? It's like deliberately crippling the movie. 7.1, people!
I've had this on HD DVD for over a year and it's still in the shrink wrap. 'Nuff said.
