Live with Regis and Kelly headed to HD next year

From the "They're still not in in HD?" files, Live With Regis & Kelly announced on-air yesterday that the show is going high definition on January 5, 2009. Apparently a makeup has been located that will make Regis watchable in high-res (he looked good in a How I Met Your Mother cameo earlier this fall), and with brand new sets all the rage in daytime TV, there's no time like the present. How it took so long is still a mystery to us, after Regis & Kelly jumped into 3-D over two years ago, you'd think moving to HD would be nothing.

Should be nice... WHIO-DT in Dayton, OH already has a lot of syndie HD including:

- Dr. Phil @ 10:00AM
- Ellen @ 4:00PM
- Wheel of Fortune @ 7:00PM
- Entertainment Tonight @ 7:30PM

and "Live" will be a great addition at 9:00AM... With their news already in Widescreen 16:9, it seems like over 60% of their total lineup is available in a format other than SD 4:3. :)

I can think of absolutely no better program than Regis and Kathy that deserves HD. No, none at all.

Now if only they could finish getting all the daytime soaps into HD, I think I'd be satisfied with ABC.
