This is the answer to the question why other countries can upgrade their infrastructure faster than USA. That is because the USA is massive and has 50 different states to get up to speed. In Japan, they can upgrade within few months because it is an island that is very small compared to the landmass of USA. Same goes for most European countries. Big companies here are national, so in order to make money on the new technology, the whole country needs upgraded. This takes time and money. We need to worry about replacing thousands of miles of cable, towers and what not. If we don't like it, we can always move to Japan, but if you do, you better like seafood, it comes with the high speed package.
