Phate quote: Plus you can already pick one up for like $2700 from Newegg. I mean, I'm still leaning towards a Panasonic for half that, but that's not bad.
I found one at Abe's of Maine $2292 w free shipping, AMEX doubles the factory warranty.
Tony - you mentioned that you found it at Abe's. Bad news my man. Pioneer has very strict rules about their products. If you do not buy from an authorized retailer they will not honor the warranty. Abe's and many others are not authorized dealers so buyer beware. If you want to the reassurance of a warranty you need to buy from an AD which are all clearly listed on Pioneer's site. I am ordering one from a dealer on the list and it is less expensive then Abe's and it includes white glove delivery with insurance. If you read Pioneer's warranty it states it in bold that you must buy from an AD. I hope this helps everyone. By the way. I have researched and looked at many, many plasmas for months and the Pioneer is by far the best thing out there. I have only seen one unit that looked as good or better and that was a Marantz that isn't made anymore. However, the Marantz sold for $5000 just two years ago so its not really comparing apples to apples.
“An engineer explained to us that hundreds of ear impressions were gathered in the name of research, and while each one obviously boasted its own unique shape and size, one single characteristic remained uniform across the board: the entrance into the ear canal is not a perfect circle, it's an oval.”
