So how are they carrying all this content over cable? Are they compressing the crap out of it?
If they are doing the same thing as they are doing in Louisville then they are going to cut some analog channels from the basic/expanded packages. Here they are getting rid of the analog version of HBO 2 and getting rid of the analog version of G4TV.
Well, from the looks of the service, the HD looks just as good as any other service (save for U-Verse, which has considerably less-quality HD than Satellite and Cable, IMHO.) As for the analog, I wouldn't know if they dropped any channels from it or not. I have two HDDVRs hooked up and no analog TVs in my home, but I can say that having SciFi HD is freaking awesome. If you live in the area and are in an area served by Insight and not TimeWarnerCable, I suggest you switch. Their service hardly has any problems and the plethora of HD is awesome (and a bird in my ear says they are already working on their next release to come in Q1 of next year.)
