Gefen intros $499 1:5 Splitter for HDMI 1.3
Anyone remotely familiar with Gefen gear will understand that "inexpensive" isn't really an option, so we suppose that explains the lofty $499 price tag attached to the outfit's freshest splitter. Designed to take a single HDMI 1.3 source to five different displays without a loss in quality, the 1:5 Splitter for HDMI 1.3 is fully HDCP compliant and supports resolutions as high as 2K (so yeah, 1080p is totally covered). It's available now with a 2-year warranty.

OR you can just buy a $499 receiver that has 4+ HDMI inputs.... Just sayin'....
Isn't that the opposite of what the Gefen does???? The Receiver you mention takes in 4 different HDMI sources. This gefen devices takes in 1 HDMI source and splits it out..
Oops.... gotta learn to read closer.
The description says, "Installation is plug and play easy, requiring a source connection to the Splitter's HDMI input using the six-foot HDMI cable that comes in the package. Five flat panel displays and projectors connect directly to the Splitter's five HDMI outputs."
Does this mean it's HDMI powered? I know they sell HDMI repeaters that draw power from the HDMI sources. This would be neat.
Hmmm...when I can get a 1x4 splitter for $75 and a 1x8 for $194 on MonoPrice....
